This year, due to the Covid-19 restrictions we are holding 2 formats for the walk.

Virtually – You decide date, place, and time for your walk;
In-person  – on Saturday February 20, 2021 at 1:00, 3:00, 5:00, or 7:00 pm
at Land-O-Lakes Golf and Country Club in Coaldale.

Registration starts at 30 minutes before each walk time for this family fun event.

We invite you to walk with us – safely – in Lethbridge!

The Coldest Night of the Year is a family-friendly walk that takes place in hundreds of locations in Canada, raising money for charities serving hungry, homeless, and hurting people in those communities, including Lethbridge. We will all be walking on Saturday, February 20, 2021!

Walk with us. It’s cold out there!

There’s a Place for Everyone! Lots of Ways to Participate Safely!

The cold can be uncomfortable. But when you take a step out into the cold on February 20, you’re declaring your concern for those who have lost their footing. You are proclaiming “we see you” to those who feel invisible, ashamed, or unsafe. You are helping bring people out of the cold, giving them a warm welcome into a safe space.

  • Challenge yourself, your family, your friends, and your co-workers to join in on warming up our community one step at a time.
  • You set your goals for the length of walk you’ll do, how much you plan to fundraise, and how much fun you plan to have.
  • Can’t do the walk but still want to participate? Sponsor a walker or even the event!

Visit https://cnoy.org/location/lethbridge to sign up or to sponsor. Your hearts will be warmed knowing that you are providing hope to others.

Why We Walk

Together, we’re collecting donations that fund critical services at Streets Alive Mission, a charity in Lethbridge which serves and supports vulnerable families and individuals in our CNOY community.

  • We walk through the cold and dark on February 20, 2021, to declare our concern for people who have no home, and take shelter in nooks and crannies.
  • We walk for those whose days are a battle to house and feed their families, and whose nights are filled with fear and frustration.
  • We walk for those driven from home by violence and abuse. And we walk for people overwhelmed by isolation, guilt and despair.
  • We walk humbly, realizing that anyone can lose their footing and then lose everything else.

Each step we take brings someone closer to safety, health and home, as together, we raise funds for organizations whose commitment and work transforms peoples’ lives.
