Exodus Men’s Life Recovery Program

Traveling with men on the road to recovery.

Program

Exodus Men’s Recovery Program is about leaving the past behind and finding new healthy relationships with family, peers, mentors, and, most importantly, with God.  Our Exodus program is a faith-centred, abstinence-based program which walks with men through the process to change their lives.

The Exodus Team takes any request for help very seriously. We have in place a number of immediate action steps we can take when a person comes to us and asks for help.

Programming concentrates on accessing counselling, work skills, literacy upgrading, and financial stability. It is designed to heal the brokenness of their lives, all in a faith-based, secure environment.

Program Components:

  • Advocacy

  • 3-Stage Recovery Track

Recovery programming focusing on post-addiction care, emotional well-being, and spiritual growth.

    • Stage 1: Understanding the Addiction
    • Stage 2: Making the Changes
    • Stage 3: Moving Forward
  • ID referral

  • Emotional Wellness Counselling

  • Employment Readiness

  • Market Place

  • Medical/Dental Care Access

  • Supportive Recovery Housing

  • Financial Trusteeship

All funds are deposited in a trust account. Each individual works with our trustee officer to develop a budget to ensure the client’s funds sustain them throughout the month. This budget ensures that critical expenses are looked after (rent, telephone, utilities) to protect the client and keep them safe. The financial counselling clients receive will help them develop the skills necessary to manage their finances independently. This is mandatory for all residents of Streets Alive Mission’s supportive housing facilities.

Exodus Men's Life Recovery Program

Recovery: “a return to a normal state of health, mind, or strength”.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) identifies the four dimensions that support recovery to be:

  • Health – overcoming or managing one’s disease or symptoms and making informed, healthy choices that support physical and emotional wellbeing.
  • Home – having a stable and safe place to live.
  • Purpose – conducting meaningful daily activities and having the independence income, and resources to participate in society.
  • Community – having relationships and social networks that provide support, friendship, love, and hope.

These are the pillars that the Exodus Recovery Program is built on.
