Genesis Women’s Ministry is a multi-tiered program assisting vulnerable women who want to recover their lives.
Genesis operates Genesis Connect for Women, a facility which houses our A.S.K. Learning Centre offering programming designed to help women reconnect emotionally and spiritually, as well as a supervised residency program.
Key programming is Christ-centred and includes emotional counselling and post-addiction support.
The Genesis program has seen some women move on to post-secondary education, jobs and families and go on to happy, healthy, productive lives still under the guidance of the Genesis support team.
Women are teamed with a “Navigator” who walks with them through their recovery helping to access other services and supports, helping to cut through red tape and advocating for women who have lost their voice.
Recovery programming focusing on post addiction care, emotional well being and spiritual growth.

Supportive Recovery Housing
The fully-staffed home is part of the Genesis Women’s Ministry at Streets Alive Mission. The home has been operating for over 6 years and is successful in helping women at risk reclaim their lives in sobriety. The foundation of this program is the unconditional love of Christ and is based in solid Christian teaching. Our home provides an abstinence based, safe supportive housing environment where women can heal and receive the support they need to reclaim their lives. Every woman who requests residency in our home is engaged in multi-level programming which teaches essential life skills and each woman is responsible for weekly and daily chores.
All funds are deposited in a trust account. Each individual works with our trustee officer to develop a budget to ensure the client’s funds sustain them throughout the month. This budget ensures that critical expenses are looked after (rent, telephone, utilities) to protect the client and keep them safe. The financial counselling clients receive will help them develop the skills necessary to manage their finances independently. This is mandatory for all residents of Streets Alive Mission’s supportive housing facilities.
