Water flows into the Mission – Summer 2018

After a request on social media for some water bottles, we have received a HUGE response from the community. We were in great need of water to share with our clients at the Mission as the temperatures soar in Lethbridge this week.

94.1 CJOC FM and 98.1 The Bridge radio stations picked up the call with a challenge to raise some money for donations.

By 8am the amazing listeners of Lethbridge had surpassed the initial goal of $1000.

About 9:30am, a particularly special moment happened when a young boy, Alex, dipped into his savings to contribute to the cause!

CTV Lethbridge also reported on the community response to the call for water:

We’ve had many generous donors – individuals, families, and businesses – drop off flats of water, reusable water bottles, and cash donations for the purchase of water.

People from all over the city, and from out of town, are dropping off 1, 2, 12 flats at a time.

Why is water important?

Because it’s hot, and the street population has a harder time getting out of the heat. Those living in poverty don’t have air conditioning.  Some don’t have refrigerators.  So every bottle of water we share makes a difference in a real person’s life.

It’s not just a bottle of water – it’s a bottle of HOPE!

We’re SO very grateful for your support. And on behalf of our clients, THANK YOU!
